I give you....Fishing Barbarian Garp....This one started as a character design painting demo for the Edge Control event in Toronto. I call him Garp in homage to one of my faaaavorite characters from One Piece.

Gromthrottle

My first full iPad Pro painting. This is a portrait of a wizard character from my comic whose name is Gromthrottle....really this is just something I've been messing around with while building a workflow inside Paintstorm Studio, and before I could work on the next thing that I really want to work on, it made sense to wrap this one up first...even if it is far less refined than I usually like. xD

Sidenote: I recorded the process of painting of this one as well for the purpose of a near future timelapse video release.

EDIT: I Probably should have also said how this is relevant to my comic project....lol forgive me...I'm just so tired haha.

Sigurd Sketch

So tonight I finished preparing the drawing for my next piece that I will be starting to paint tomorrow and I will be recording it for a future time lapse video release...I also thought I'd give everyone a preview of where it's going.

Nowadays my process is on the heavy side when setting up the drawing, but the actual digital paint time is significantly less than before because I've spent so much time up front analyzing and setting up.

Let me be clear though, even though this prepared sketch IS greyscale....I don't actually paint in black and white and colorize....my drawings just end up this way in order to allow me to have a greater textural base on which to start building color.

Anyway, this one should definitely be a fun one to paint. XD

So in the background, while planning and working on a ton of other personal projects stuff, I managed to paint this one. It's a painting of Pirate Captainess Natasha, who happens to be another main character in my comic...

What's special about this one is that the entirety of my painting it has been recorded, and that video will be released shortly. I will post about it in the very near future so stay tuned...and PLZ note...it will be FREE. :D

Tonight I joined a new Google Hangout group and I painted this...it's made from a pencil sketch of a Wizardess character for my new comic.

Wreck-it Ralph

With the extremely busy past few months I've recently trudged through, I've had a bunch of things that I had previously started and never finished. This was a sketch that I've had this 90% done for months now, and I never went back to add any final touches to it until tonight.

ANYHOO, I love Wreck-it Ralph. :D

Soooo, last night I jumped the gun and uploaded my Wreck-It Ralph fanart when I was tired, and I immediately regretted it. Tonight I tweaked it, and I am MUCH happier with it now. :D

Turtle Samurai

My first Post-CTN painting! I basically used that Turtle Samurai sketch to paint with tonight during Grace Liu's awesome google hangout, amidst chatting and laughing with friends new and old about art, life and CTN. Was memorable, everyone!!
